Turkey, which confidently occupies a position as one of the world leaders in the field of medical tourism, continues to actively develop this sector. This is facilitated by modern medical centers, highly qualified doctors and competitive prices. In 2025, the country expects to receive about 2 million foreign patients, and revenues from this industry can reach 12 billion dollars.
According to International Health Services Inc. (USHAŞ), in 2024, Turkish medical institutions provided assistance to more than 1.5 million foreign patients, which brought in 3 billion dollars to the economy. In the future, the state plans to continue to increase this figure - by 2028, revenues are projected to increase to 20 billion dollars.
The largest flow of medical tourists comes from Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Iraq, Azerbaijan, as well as the Middle East.
The most popular areas among foreign patients are plastic surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, oncology, organ transplantation and weight loss.
Turkey also occupies a leading position in hair transplantation and is among the top ten world leaders in organ transplantation.
